Default Help to read ECU of Ford Focus.

    Hi all,
I try to read ECU of Ford Focus 1.8TDCI year 2007 with interface Magpro with version 4.2 and I can`t, I don`t know why.
I think that the connection between RJ45 and OBD connector missing one cable, I only have five cables:
    5-Signal ground
    6-Can high
    7-K-line
    14-Can low
    16-+12V
and to connect with ford ecu is necesary protocol Ford SAE J1850
    pin 2-J1850 BUS+
Ford OBD-II diagnostic interface pinout and wiring @ pinoutsguide.com
Can someone check your interface to see if this cable is necesary and where is connect de cable at RJ45, please.

    Thanks.

Magpro do not work with J1850 (PWM/VPW), only K or CAN ECU.

    Hi,
somebody know why I can?t read the ECU of Focus, if possible my Magpro is bad or is different ECU than SIS 202, also I try to read with flashtec but I can?t read.
I think my magpro have a bad hardware because don?t work correctly don?t read data of the ECUs.

    Thanks.

I check the OBD cable the wires are connect correct but in the magpro I don`t know where go the wires.
I don`t read more ECU with protocol CAN but if don`t work in Focus I think in more is dificult.

Ford protocol use pin 2 &10 for their data lines but magpro2 don't have that protocol , only kessv2 or powergate have this at the moment I think ?

I read ford mondeo 2.0TDCI/hdi 2009 years with magpro without problem, ecu sid 206! via can-bus,why many peoples think that ecu read/write J1850 (PWM/VPW) protocol,i think is for diagnosis wires bsi, airbag and etc..

The vast majority use the ford specific protocol and pins 2/10 .. You only find a tiny coverage of ford on most tools- your '09mondeo is one of these 'exceptions.'. Try reading an '01 tddi or '05 tdci mondeo with Magpro

Galleto 2 hoovered up every possible protocol he could copy when making Fg2 and added some original protocol ( crafter obd) but omitted ford

BS made a specific separate tool ( crossfire ) to cover Ford..

Ultimate copycat Magpro copied the ford masters Alientech but couldn't add ford in either V1 or V2

Cmd won't answer questions about covering Ford in their' #1 'tool

Not sure if it's something to do with 15v being needed to wake many ford ecu's but for sure powergate or kess v2 are only tools that have good ford coverage

I just want to put here my two cents.

My chinese clone FGTech (AKA galletto 2) have read and wrote perfectly via OBD a couple of EEC-V ford ecus.

Both 1.8TDdi from year 2003. Both visteon. PWM.

Don't know which pins it used, but worked.

So FG2 at least in my case support FORD.
