no. i've seen pictures on other forums. new version has 1 pcb (old one has 2pcbs), and don't have bluetooth and oki chip. but oki is not needed - it is not used in new hardware. there is also place for bluetooth module, but it isn't installed in most cases, or even never.

so it is really the new hardware. but i'm not sure is it better or not...

Ok, I know that there is a different between old CDP hardware and new on, but I would like to know what really different is between RED CDP+ and GRAY CDP+. From the pictures both board looks similar and only different what I notice is that gray CDP+ has longer USB cable with led light. Is that really everything, or is much more different? I don't wont to pay more money only for different body case color and longer cable.
But the most important question is how the new CDP+ hardware works, and if it works with FORD and BMW cars?

I have now tried to install autocom trucks and cars 2011.3 but...here is the problem. As VCI has serial 30971, and cars licence is for 30250 (although i have generated HWkey for 30971) i got error while making hardware test(attached pictures). can anyone help? I have red here that 30250 for cars and 30971 form trucks is possible sollution but for me it does not work...

U have blacklisted serials from china , change serial's and all will be OK.

Sorry but i dont understand...i have 30971 serial...You mean i need to change it? To 30250 or to some other? Or HWid? But HWid is generated according to serial number...and version of autocom.

ptoblem SOLVED...i have accidently entered 30971 instead of 39071...now everything works - except 2011.3 release 5 - after installing release 5 update autocom crashes.

May I have noticed significant differences between autocom cdp + gray and red. If you look carefully at both PCBs'll notice the following:
In the upper pcb's placed a gray top right speaker and the red no.
In the bottom of the gray pcb in the center there are 2 components in the red white and no.
In the bottom of the gray pcb bottom right next to the card holder smd resistors are five red and no.
Cable length (longer gray)
An LED that you can see in the pictures of the vendors.

Go to help>licence>add new licence and generate licence for 39071 for cars - i have had the same problem and solved it that way....
I see here people say you can install cars with one serial and trucks with another serial but it seems nonsense to me and i didn't have success with that solution so i installed both with same serial and everything went fine...
