    Default cant connect to ftp

    this is doing my head in ? i cannot connect to dreambox using flash fxp or dreambox control centre i have turned the firewall off i can connect to dm 800 fine? is it different for 500s? username root ?pw dreambox?

    Maybe someones changed the password on it, I take it the ip is correct.

    Is it a wired connection or wireless
    if wireless make sure dchp is checked

    nah mate nobody could have changed p/w as i bought directly from china the wierd thing is that when i press on remote setup/expert setup then communication setup ip the ip says it is 10.0.0.97 which seams an odd ip ?

    go into network settings on box un-tick dchp and give it a
    static ip thats on your lan ie 192.168.2.xx

    hiya elric bud unticked dhcp typed in an ip of 192.168.1.2 then clicked save then on dcc i typed same ip for dreambox but still wouldn't connect ?

    Is the ip you gave it in the same range as your pc also try ticking dhcp and save then reboot the box and see if it gets a proper ip.

    ticked dhcp rebooted now ip gone back to ip 10.0.0.97?

    is there another way to get sealion and bouquets on?? or have i just got a box that has a few freeview channels ? i can't even flash a new image can i ?

    Set an ip on the box like 192.168.1.99 and set your lan to 192.168.1.100 and try to connect with a crossover cable...disable dhcp on your box.
    You box aint getting an ip addy from your modem???
    Reboot your modem and your box and see if its gets an ip via dhcp if the static ip dont work out.

    did you reboot network in the same settins after you gave it a static ip,also its not the same ip as other things on your lan

    unplug the open box and any other boxes connectin to your lan,and try again,set a static ip,save it,restart network

    also look in your router status page and see if your box shows in there and see what ip addy it has

    theres nothing wrong with dm500s its the user
