sending to germany costs ?10
Did you actually read what i wrote, I am actually all for originals my point was for the ?49 saving if you got a faulty one from germany it would cost a lot more to send back for repair than it would to buy an official one over here and send that back to UK mainland.
Clones are fine as long as you know what your getting into, Originals are fine too you pay what you want full stop.
hi guys just to let you all know have orderd one from world of sat should get it next week tx for all the imput
what about a hard drive for recording,as they can fit and flash image of your choice, easier to have it fitted first
If your fitting a hard drive dont get a 3.5 get a 2.5 they're quieter and produce less heat and at the end of the day it's the same thing.
I recently fitted a 2.5" HDD to my box, there are no mounting holes for a 2.5", well there aren't on a clone.
I ended up drilling some holes in the HDD mounting plate, took me bloody ages as I somehow managed to 2 of the holes wrong but I was determined that the drill and drill bit would be the only tools I'd use to correct.
Now why didn't I think of that? I thought about using velcro but then decided as the sun was out a man needs his cordless drill
I also didn't realise that the SATA and power connectors on the 2.5" drive are exactly the same as those on a 3.5" drive. So I drilled the holes, screwed the drive in and then started looking on ebay for an adapter, then couldn't find any so did a bit more digging and then had a DOH! moment.
It may sound daft but I fitted the 2.5 drive I used with blutak it keeps it up to stay cool also works as deafening no metal to metal and easy to remove.
So I spend literally hours getting 4 holes to line up with the HDD and others have achieved the same using cable ties and blutak
I've not got a duo yet but would 3.5" to 2.5" adapter work?
