When I last ordered from a Amazon.de I just used my UK account and paid via my Nationwide CC.
Got my box this morning and running this afternoon.
I cant believe I waited so long, I'm stoked !!!
Bump!
Sorry to bump this thread guys but it's exactly along the lines of a thread i was going to make so thought i'd post here instead!
Questions.
How much is the total incl postage coming to in ??
How's best to pay? i've logged in with my Amazon uk account ok and it lists my debit cards (Natwest and MBNA) but do you get a rubbish exchange rate with them?
Any extra card charges?
How long till delivery??
Do you have to get a uk 3 pin plug converter?
Think that's about it!!
Cheers.
I have always paid with my credit card through Amazon even from german etailers so be roughly the same exchange rate only difference is you get that extra protection with CC cover than what you would do if paying via your Debit card.
Do you not have an old Figure power lead hanging around anywhere that you could use, even the 2-3pin converter plugs are only a couple of quid.
Cheers for that mate.
I thought they levied an extra charge for paying in another currency - may be wrong though.
Will any power cable do then that fits?
It may be less bother if i order with Amazon uk after all!! ?275 there so not that much in it after getting a power lead etc
All the products that i have had from German E-tailer's i always paid with a credit card and have never been charged any conversion rate, I am not saying that goes for all Banks,CC companys etc.. in the UK but thats what i found.
Cheapest i could find for the Duo is from here
its ?289.00 + ?13.90 postge by DHL works out at around ?240Code:http://www.satshop.tv/VU-Duo-Twin
you may be able to find cheaper
Mate they wont be clones from Germany plus you get a 2 years warranty, I usually use HM-SAT but they are dearer by around ?10 euros + 4% of the vaue of goods so that would be around ?259 delivered in 3 days with HM-SAT you get 3 years warranty which i doubt you will need as the support for the Duo will probably have stopped by then with the imminent release of the Solo2 and Duo2
