If offline SCN coding was possible could you adapt used modules into vehicle instead of new ones?

Wouldn't that mean that any module you adapt with online SCN coding, that MB would keep a record of the module details being adapted?

    Well
i think that the coding depends from the VIN and something that i do not know when we use an used unit from example ESP unit the coding from the used will be different from the car we add it , with online the unit takes the coding from the car we have add it
    a simple example

Does that patch work with older version 03/2012? I have 2 installs 1 or 03/2012 and 11/2011. I need to program a smart key first time ever

Couldn't you use abritus to dump the eeprom from faulty module ( if it readable) and program the replacement module. That way the replacement module would be identical to the faulty one and the vehicle won't know the difference which would not require SCN coding?

You could not use this method on a vehicle under warranty obviously and since you can't do offline SCN coding the only way is to do it online being charged by MB to do it?
