You can't do ecu on a 2010 as it's most likely gonna be EDC17

yes,you may have right.but i found edc 16 on early 2010.(probably was 2009 and model 2010),but on ecu not goes with digiwigy.

I done a 2011 T5 today, took about 5 minutes to do, very easy.

I meant mate .. are you using the 12volt supply ? or plugging it into a vehicle ?

I use 12 Volt from supply.

Then try plugging into a vehicle .. ( I had the same fault ) it was the power supply plug.. at fault .. nothing to lose by trying mate
