probleme start bmw 316 after change engine with 318 petrol

i have the problem of start just in morning for bmw 316 petrol after change engine , a friend tell me that must change the ecu 316 to 318 or i juste to change the flash memory .the car ok after running.

Hi

Have you diagnose to see what fault codes you have in Engine ECU.........Also check the Coolant Temperature Sensor readings in the morning before you start see what is it reading.............

Also when it starts first in the morning will it misfire for a bit and than run OK.......? or it just runs fine..........?

give as more information, year, chassis, engine codeS, ecu nummber...
