    Default Olympics Opening Ceromony

What did you think of it ?
I was impressed with the fire works but i have been impressed with fireworks since i was 5 .I thought you cant get better to finish the opening ceremony of the most watched sports events in the world than a convicted cannabis grower brilliant.
But one thing got me a little confused why was french the first language in the announcement's not English when it was the London games?
Not that i have a problem with the french but why french not Spanish, German, Swahili ect ect???
    Why pick french???

I hate the French, but I'm guessing it's the second most popular language in the world, still confusing as AFAIK English is the most common.

I thought the show started off pretty crap but got better as it progressed, the NHS section was nice and dark, that would have scared the shit out of me as a kid.

Totally confusing and a poor television spectacle, I'm sure those in the stadium found it to be amazing but as a tv show it wasn't great to watch.

Was disappointed too by all the references to war and the bombings etc, they should have kept to the theme of sport, make a show about al the other stuff on its own.

there was probably a couple of billion people around the world saying WTF, coz i was, if that represented us as a nation god help us,
and the irony, industrial revolution, when we don't have any industry, NHS when the tory's are trying to dismantle it
I don't know about Danny Boyle, more like Frankie Boyle, and when it showed the Internet bit, it should have been a bloke with his keks round his ankles and a box of tissues. 28 million, for what.

I found it very good and felt it portrays the history of britain very well but there was one very important bit missed out. Where the ~~~~ were all the illegal immigrants to portray the britain of today. But mr bean with the royal philharmonic was just class

I thought it was a good opening ceremony. Enjoyable and flowed really well in my humble opinion.

The immigrants were all working inside the arena.

And there was me thinking they had squeezed then in at the end when the flame came through all the construction workers that built the stadium

Not impressed - but what can you expect them to produce for a nation thats been brainwashed into thinking the likes of Big-Brother is top class entertainment. I imagine that a good chunk would of still thought it good entertainment if it had just been a three hour video of a slug crawling up a wall !

I imagine this Danny Boyle will end up with an OBE or some such for his efforts but personally i'd be asking for a refund.
