Hi Digicon,
I have a few questions about trying to connect my TM 5402 HD M3 CI super +. Please help.
To keep a long story short: this is what I need to know and what I have done and tried so far:
The receiver must be reset to ' company reset' and all channels should be deleted (Cleared) beforehand. Then it should be possible to upload
the firmware (Patch) from the internet Forum (#########)and save the unpacked relevant file on a USB stick. The compact file can be unpacked using explorer? Am I OK, sofar? Then the file can be installed via the front USB port by pressing the usb button on the remote. This in the point where, in my case, the Receiver rebooted, and the patch was successfully installed. Now the same procedure can be done with the keys, softcam (BISS keys)but I would rather put them in manually via remote 8280. For some reason I don't seem to be able to do that. Is there a trick here? What code oder App do I use here to enable the keys to be installed. Windows 10 asks for an app., but I'm not sure if explorer is readable for the receiver. What could I open the file with other than explorer? Anyway, if you confirm that I am on the right road that would help me very much. Oh I must add that my set up is a 150cm dish pointing to Intelsat 27.5 W. From Germany. I get loads of coded and uncoded programs, if I scan at random, but the
ITV and BBC programs don't seem to want to work on my receiver.
I'd be grateful for a few tips.
I'm a newbie and an expat, so I hope these facts don't turn you off.
Keep up the good work your doing.
Michael

Hi,
I have had to remove the reference to the so called 'Other Forum' due to the Forum rules please have a read when you get a chance, anyhow the latest patch is already uploaded to this forum here is the LINK
You can also download the latest patched firmware directly from the box itself by going to Menu - Entertainment - TM online and then downloading and installing the correct patch for your receiver model.
Once your receiver is patched you only need to enter 8280 into the receivers remote control on the channel you are trying to clear with the Biss key and then enter the key press exit it will ask you to save press OK job done. on the biss channels on 27.5 west you have to do this procedure for every single channel, Obviously as you have already entered the key say on line 1 then just point every channel to line 1 and save job done
for the BISS key you open the softcam.key file with a text editor Notepad++ is preferred
Regards
Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
Sorry about having to remove the reference to other forum. I'm not very familiar with this kind of communication as a newbie. (Haven't got round to reading regulations properly, sorry)
I seem to have done the right thing at setting up so far, because when I go to BISS on the menu and press 8280 codes come up. I haven't tried 8281 yet. However I'm not sure if I am lined up properly with the correct satellite because I haven't received blue or orange signal. Will I only get this if the channels are cleared? Or will the signal be clear on the receiver when I adjust the dish?
Would you mind explaining step by step how to open the channels one by one again? I'm not sure what you mean when you say "point each channel at line 1". There are 100 bis codes with 32 digits each. I can alter these if necessary, but the keys I looked for on the internet only have 12 ro 14 digits.
I have 146p version. will I need to reset and start again?
I'm so grateful for your support. Keep it going.
Bye.
Hi mivojo,
You need a Strong signal first before the BISS Key will work, the screen will remain Blank until the BISS key is inserted but as you say if you dont have a signal at the moment then you will not get very far.
Do Not concern yourself with the 8281 menu as you are only concerned with the BISS entry system which is located on 8280, and as you rightly point out you have around 100 BISS lines so you can enter the key on any one of those lines.
My suggestion would be keep it simple and just enter the BISS key on the very first line 1. which as you will notice has 32 digits like this 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00.
The biss keys on the Technomates only require the first 16 digits entry as the key in its 32 digit form is just a repeat of itself twice so you only need to enter the first 16 digits and leave the last 16 digits as Zero's like this>
11 22 33 44 55 66 77 88 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
when entered like this all you need to do is press the EXIT button and it will ask you do you want to save press OK, then as long as you have a signal on the BISS channel you are on and have entered the Key correctly it will open, then you have to goto the next channel which will be Blank but should have signal press 8280 on the remote control highlight line 1 in the biss menu and press exit it will again ask you to save and that channel will open repeat this for every channel on 27.5 west you want to open.
I must stress you do need a signal on this satellite so your first priority is to get the strongest signal you can on 11495 V 44100 27.5? West
Regards
Thank you digicon. Very helpful advice. I'm not sure whether the direction for the satellite is correct. Modern TVs today have built in receivers which are set at Astra 19.2, although the dish is set at Astra 28.5. I thought I should have to change the satellite on the list so that it complies to the dish is the right direction, but I have to change the tp perhaps to get a signal. Hope I'm making myself understood. Could be I'm talking rubbish.
Bye for now.
