Default Extending [satellite] cables to another room

    Hi all,

My Mrs has decided she wants to swap the lounge and dining room usage, which means I need to extend the cable feed from the dish.

I don't want to run new cable if I can avoid it, but what's the advice on "extending" cables?

I guess I have maybe four options:-

    Run new cables completely
    Use an in-line connector
Find (buy/make) a passive "junction box" and use patch cables
    Find an active distribution switch

I have two dishes, one fixed with twin LNB for Freesat, and one motorised with single LNB

    Opinions please?

    S

ideally you should run new cables, but you should have no problems using barrel connectors (used with F connectors) and extend the existing cables with new cables with f connectors both ends and "barrel" them onto the old cables

so options 1 or 2 yes, 3 or 4 no in my opinion
