Hi,
just wondering if other drives maybe compatible apart from the WD scorpio & other (i cant remeber the name)...
I have got hold of a Hitachi travelstar 80gb drive?..
Could this work?..
And, is it safe to try it without damaging my unit?.

I've got an old Toshiba 40GB HDD in my 5000. Works fine - didn't even have to break any tabs off!!
I'm sure most IDE HDD's will work it is just a matter of how well the pins are protected (ie. you need them exposed as much as possible, to prevent any "modifications".)
