    Default Returning an item

    Hello all
I got a new ipad 1 week ago from argos as a present
I asked for a wifi and cellular ipad
But ended up with a wifi only one
I only realised this once i had opened it up and switched it on
Anyway i contacted argos cs explained the situation and was told they cannot take it back as its an ipad and because its been opened its now secondhand
    Is this correct ??
    Any info much appreciated

Computers, Mobile phones, Ipad and most car components like map sensor and egr valve once the seal is broken its classed as second-hand.

You could get a new one if it?s faulty but they will not take it back and they will not refund your money.

Sorry to hear any 1 can make mistake, there might be a way round, some 1 may give you a better advice you never know.

So I take it back and say its faulty and I get my money back ?
Will they not want to just replace it with another iPad ?
I don't mind a credit note ,as said above I can then use that to get the one I originally asked for
I want to get this right first time as I can't go back to the store a second time with a different excuse as to why I want to return it

We're you given the WRONG ipad?
Or did you order the wrong one?
If it's the first, then you probably paid more then the item is worth, and they sold you the incorrect item.. = full refund.
If you stated that you wanted the gsm version to an assistant, and he then sold you the wrong one, then it's misrepresentation... = full refund.
If you in fact arsed up the order and selected the wrong version... Then I'm afraid you are stuck with it . (legally)
Of course, if it was faulty when you first opened it, then it's "sale of goods act" plain and simple... And a full refund

It was purchased by someone for my birthday from Argos
you have to fill out a ticket in Argos
I wrote down the exact model. Ie wifi + cellular
I need to speak to the person who purchased it to see why it wasn't the one I wrote down that I received
But I suppose I could just return it and say its faulty and get a credit note, pay the extra and get the correct model

Be careful you dont get caught in the "company policy" loop... where they will want to send it away for testing etc.
Make SURE it IS faulty first... too many Volts up the charger port usually sorts it !
