Default ihas524b wont read blank verbatims

    Bought this from Germany : [XGD3]Xbox 360 LiteOn iHas524 B DVD-Writer ?Burner Max, Lite-On, iHas124 B | eBay

Set it all up to the tower I've got it reads every dvd I throw at it bar the blank 8x verbatims it says the error Device not ready (No reference position found).

I've emailed the turds I got it off and no reply. This is using the Verbs MKM-003 bought 20 of them from maplin they can't be read and 2 off ebay from 2 different sellers to rule out bad batches. Each one says MKM-003 when inserted in my other dvd writer but when in the ihas its Device not ready (No reference position found).

The weird thing is if I put a burnt verbatim MKM-003 into the thing it sees them no problem its the blank ones it can't read.

Its got me stumped anyway so before it gets launched out the window or back to ze germans has anyone got any ideas?
