Question This is a good question-Stronger satellite signal from 2 dishes?

Heres a good question. We know if we get a 50% signal with one dish, can we get 100% with 2 dishes--no!Signals come down in pulses and will only make the signal weaker if joined together. The question is is there any equipment that can merge the 2 dishes signals together to make a stronger signal in sequence?Or am I talking shite?

I suppose these big radio telescopes do it and can somehow sync the signals together

but for us amateur hobbyists with standard equipment , no chance

a bigger dish is a cheaper alternative anyway

found the name of it , radio interferometry
Radio telescope - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Its really not very practical for home/hobbyist type usage as it would require super-precise positioning and closely matched dish/lnb to avoid one dish having a stronger signal than the other. Generally its only done using super-precise servo's that compensate for any differences in real time signal levels (ie, wind distortion), usually by slightly changing the shape of the dishes.
