Default Eurovox EX5000 code won't auto update

hi, i have a bit of a strange problem, I've had a search through the forum but can't see this problem anywhere, so sorry if it's already been mentioned before.

My sister has an EX5000, as do I, both of which i flashed with the latest firmware before Christmas when we had all of the troubles and everything was then working fine, codes auto updating and everything.

My sister has in the last couple of weeks or so had a problem in that it won't auto update. It is just showing scrambled channel on pay channels, but works ok on free ones like bbc1. She brought it round to me tonight, and i put the latest firmware on again and put on my channel data that i know is working. I then plugged it in at my house and it hangs for ages (like half an hour) and won't update. i tried putting it on sky one, sky sports, bravo etc as i know sometimes the channel it is on makes a difference, but still nothing...

now this is where it gets a bit strange... I thought for now i would input the manual codes to get her up and running, so plugged mine back in, went into the secret menu, got the codes, then when i plug my sisters box back in and try to enter the secret menu it doesn't let me, both using 1968 code, or hitting yellow button.

both boxes were brought from the same place, are not clones, and have the same firmware and channel data, so i can't see how one is working but the other isn't

    any ideas?

    The emulation is turned off.

On the problem box press menu, OK on language settings type 1968 then scroll down to emulation, enable and save it by using the save and exit (blue button) then exit back to TV and wait for it to update.
