I found them on the bottom of the left pillar... You have to take out the plastics
Thanks, I found them too ... they seem to be OK, but how do you disconnect each one of them? I can't seem to find a way.
There are 2 connectors ... in the front is CAN-bus C connector with green wires, on the rear CAN-bus B connector with brown wires ... however, they all seem OK to me.
Can anyone point me in which location is Central Gateway?
Where does the starter gets the signal? Front sam?
Disconect dashboard and try to start engine
you never mentioned if you try another ignition key.
Sometimes starting issues are just faulty key. I recommend try second key before going to crazy house.
OK, I have some news.
I found out that there are two signals "50" in EZS. First is "circuit 50", second "terminal 50 (CAN). When I switch ignition key from position II (ignition ON) to position III (start request), both of these signals go from "NO" to "YES", but only for the first time since ignition is ON. If I return key from position III (start request) to position II (ignition ON) and then again try to start the car (turn the key to position III), only "circuit 50" signal turns to "YES", while signal "terminal 50 (CAN)" remains as "NO". I have to take out the key and insert it again to get a new "try".
Now to Engine ECU. The signal here has name "Terminal 50 (input)" and behaves exactly like signal "terminal 50 (CAN)" in EZS. It only turns to "YES" when you move ignition key from position II to position III, but ONLY for the first time since ignition is ON. However, the starter still won't crank.
There is a way to get the engine running. One guy has to go in the vehicle, insert the key, turn it to position III (start request) and hold it in this position. The other guy has to put direct power on starter and the engine starts running ...
My question for MB experts: Why does the signal "terminal 50 (CAN)" get from "NO" to "YES" only for the first time since ignition is ON?
its designed that way, to prevent you from engaging the starter once the engine has started.
You need to look for your problem at the front sam, the engine controller must bring the relay in, you say you have checked all the fuses but you may have fuses missing too..
also its normal for start enable to be no on ME it will go to yes once the car starts.
also does ME see that the car is in park or neutral?

The relay does get ON, but it does not transfer the power to the starter. Front SAM is the one under the hood which has this relay?
Damn, fuse #52 in front SAM was blown ... missed it in the first check. Car now starts fine, but I will still remove starter and have a look at it to figure out why the fuse was blown.
