    Default Audi A4 RB4/RB8 wiring dashboard -> engine ecu

    Hi guys,

    I have to simulate a complete immobilizer system on the bench. Therefore I need to know on which pins the dashboard communicates with the engine ecu!

    I think the communication happens via CAN Low/CAN High but I'm not sure.

    Thanks for info.

    Cheers,
    d2mike

    So I connect - in this case EDC16 - CAN Low/High (Pin 66, 89) from engine ECU with CAN Antrieb Low/High (Pin 12/13), right?

    Thank you, mate.
    Should work for communication between dash and engine ecu:

    So I connect - in this case EDC16 - CAN Low/High (Pin 66, 89) from engine ECU with CAN Antrieb Low/High (Pin 12/13), right?
    All other pins/wiring are self-evident.

    you may also need to connect engine control relay, or connect directly the power on ECU pins after the relay...

    RB4/8:

    Blue connector:
    31 - Immo coil pin #1
    30 - Immo coil pin #2

    Green connector:

    3 - terminal 15 positive (12 volts)
    2 - terminal 30, positive (12 volts)
    18+19 - terminal 31, earth (ground)
    23 - self diagnosis/K-wire (K-line)
    13 - Can-H
    12 - Can-L

    EDC16:

    12V = 18,5
    Ground = 1,2
    K-Line = 72
    Can-H = 89
    Can-L = 66

    OBD:

    4+5 - Ground

    7 - K-line
    16 - 12 volts
    14 - Can-L
    6 - Can -H

    All 3 components Cluster , ECU and OBD needs to be connected ,plus you need to have immo coil and key if you want to do any programing.
