    Default problems updating m3

    ok i'm having a massive headache trying to get an update onto my m3 box, ive got the firmware, extracted it and popped it onto my usb hdd. when i pop it into the box and go to update by usb it says there is no .abs any ideas please also i can't get aj's list to work either

    hi. what are you trying to exactly do? are you trying to install the firmware (operating system)?

    Hi

    Have you put the extracted firmware onto the root of the usb.

    Also what format is your usb drive.

    put firmware on to the root of usb and tryed in fat and ntfs and still no joy, and yes i extracted the file using winrar and also extracted using 7-zip just in case there was something wrong with the extraction

    Hi

    Why do you need to update firmware, any reason for it as I would have thought it would have the latest firmware on it.

    Do you just need an updated channel list for it, if so try mine in my stickie its up to date up to 5 mins ago.

    the firmware i have doesn't have youtube or youp**n on it also i ain't able to update the channel list without firmware for some up apparent reason ????

    Hi

    Well Id hazard a guess that if you are doing everything correctly and its not happening for whatever reason then think you might have to go the serial route.

    great thats what i was trying to avoid never done that before and don't have any serial ports on the pc im using

    I would check if the file has been extracted properly by opening a dos box and then go to the root of your pen drive, ie:

    d:
    dir

    that will give you the names of the files and folders on the root of the pen drive............the file will be something like:

    F3 Youtube 03-11-2012.abs

    If the file is not in the root then you will get the error like in your first post
