Default SKYBOX F3 ETHERNET PROBLEMS HELP PLEASE

    Hi guys.

Got some serious problems here which i would really like some help with.

Ive connected my f3 box to my skybroadband router by ethernet cable and im getting no connection just the orange light.

Ive tested the cable and it works fine on ther devices...

Do i need to do something in settings or on my router/broadband connection somewhere?

    thanks

Have you ever tinkered with your Sky router's settings? Do you remember ever turning off something called "DHCP", if not then it's on by default and that's fine.

On your Skybox you also have to make sure DHCP is enabled under ethernet settings.

Is the orange light on the skybox or on the the front or back of your router?

It may just be orange because the Skybox uses 10Mb ethernet.

Have you tried connecting to something? Try opening the youtube app and search for something.

The orange light is because its connected at 10mb - the light would be green if it was connected at 100mb, but thats not a problem

If youtube is working then your connected to the internet, if your saying that none of the premium channels are clearing but the internet on the F3 is working then I would check your sea lion settings, username password port etc

Yep that confirms it. Your connection is fine. It's just orange because the ethernet port on the skybox is 10Mbs. Nearly all other ethernet hardware, for example your typical laptops and PCs are capable of 100 or 1000Mb ethernet.

The orange light is simply a visual indicator to show you that its connecting at a slower speed. Just in case you're troubleshooting slow speeds or wondering why a network device is slow. This way you don't have to login to your router to check the speed, you just instantly know by looking at the light.
