Default Renault Kangoo with no working key

    Hi Guys,

Client towed his car to my workshop as he dropped the one and only key which worked with the car, and since the car does not start. Opening the key immediately revealed that he lost the transponder... I wanted to make the immo off, but on this car it's not possible, only partial removal works. And if I'm right when the immo is partially removed the ECU is reverted back to virgin state, and it will learn keys at the first start, so it's also not good in this situation.

I'm about to have a transponder made for this car by a friend of mine, but as he's far away I would have to tell him what kind of transponder to use, and he'll also need the "transponder code"

The car is a 2004 Renault Kangoo 1.5dci with a Delphi/TRW DDCR ECU - the facelifted Series I. version, like this:

The key fob has two buttons and looks like this:

Could you guys tell me the following:

    1. What kind of transponder will I need for this car, and what machines would do it?

    2. From where can I read out the key data from the car? From the UCH or instrument cluster?

    3. If I give the certain transonder type and the "key code" to someone who could make transponders is that data sufficient, or does the method requires ther car to be near the machine when it's done?

    Regards,

    Tibi

    Hello,
search module, read eeprom 93 lc 66 got the file, you will pass the pin-code
Programming with scanner, New key with control, because the old key is erased (control)
With tango could generate new chip ready to start the vehicle.
    Best regards, J.Luis.

Just program in a new remote key,or kangoo will accept a Plain key with PCF7936 in Cipher-Manchester mode
APV can be extracted with DDT2000 if you dont have TrueCode,Explorer Etc,program with SBB and Pin

Thanks guys for the info! Gonna resolder the whole PCB of the remote, hoping it'll work. You were right it only have the coil inside, so there's no carbon transponder.

But even if the key will start the car the owner asked me to also make the secondary key work. AFAIK that has a completely destroyed PCB, so simple resoldering will not help that one...

From you answers I think the following could work:

-read the EEPROM in the car to get key code
-program a blank ID46 carbon transponder with this code (could Silca SBB work???)
-use CanClip to learn the new key (and also the other one, as it'll be erased)
    -start the car

Please let me know if the above is correct! (Sorry for being so dumb, but I never ever did this locksmith thing before and I don't even have the tools so...)

A new ID46 transonder can be programmed in must be in cipher-manchester mode

can be done with SBB if you have the 12 digit PIN

is that the pin what I can find in the car's EEPROM?

on hungarian sites I found these two:

    -ID46 transponder open
-ID46 transponder locked - for Renault

Now, which one should I buy?

Thanks! Now, what unit should I remove from the car to gain access to the EEPROM containing the necessary info?

    UCH or the cluster?

Why not just use a new remote key? Then program with clip or Renault explorer / true code etc.

HVRM46A at Hickleys .com about ?24

From uch read the dump file from 93C66 with proper programmer and send us your dump that we generate for you a pin code.
if you have clip Renault you can learn a new key.
    good luck!

There is no good or bad one, there is the one wich works and the nonworking transponders, and i can guarantee u can program 10 out of 10 manchester type on that renault model. I ve been programming renaults for a long time and never get one wich didnt accept cipher-manchester.
