Sorry for the new thread (ive already been on about this) but i cant resolve this my ip address by default is 10.0.0.97 ive changed it and saved (green button) but every time i go back to it its back to the default 10.0.0.97 how can i save it permenantly

I've always been able to do it by changing and saving the new address, depending on image and menu system, then a full reboot or better still to standby then power off then on. Try another image if still fails.

are you using a router, if so set dhcp in dreambox communication settings, then when router has assigned ip, un tick dhcp & set what you want

Like the last guy said make sure DHCP is disabled, if that fails then I'd reflash the box as the image may be corrupt.
