Range rover Discovery 3, diesel 6V
This car dont have codes, dont start, unless you disconnect alternator or main drive belt, when eng starts dont have power and acceleration only disconecting MAF. Alternator was replaced same issue, any idea of this? Thanks in advance.

what happens if you diconnect the alternator and start then connect it again?. it s pretty difficult, so just remove the Alt fuse see if it starts ok, and put it back in. what voltage are you reading?

What have you tried to scan it with? Autologic is the only tool guaranteed to pull up all the codes. Have you scanned for codes in bcm? Have you got any live data readings especially maf!

Did scan with KTS, Ultrascan and Diagun and no codes, in some forum they speak about an intelligent Box thats near the batt, but this car dont have, looks like electrical noise interfering with ECU signals, are any filter outside the ECU?.

    Download PDF Land Rover Discovery 3 - LR3 - Workshop Manual | PDFTown.com
you may need to test can hi & low readings to find what is causing this problem
Did you get a maf reading at idle?

no idea why, but did have one where there was a blown fuse in the fusebox nehind front bumper/fuse box ( i think)

Wounder if it has lost a bttery sense to the dynamo and as it turns gives out a massive reading.

alternive if it's got a bad earth wire?

how many wires on the dynamo? 0 what difference do you get on volts when you crank?

is the engine full of water?

If its doing what you say it will have codes stored somewhere in power body or instrument cluster most tools except autologic just cant read them!
You can check can bus H & L with voltmeter to ground & internal impendence between H & L with ohm meter that should help locate the fault
