    Default Skybox Ethernet issue

I have my box all set up FTA channels are working fine. i entered my "sealion" but it says offline. Now i suspect this is an internet connection issue as nothing is visible in the youtube app on my box the menus and stuff are there but cant search just shows a loading circle then no videos show up. Im connected via an ethernet cable to my router. all lights are green on my router. I'm stumped. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

Is DHCP enabled in your box network connection settings?

I'm having the same problem with my sealion, i have two boxes (a blade box & an f3). I have tried the lines in both boxes, the blade works perfectly in both the living room and the bedroom, whereas the f3 comes back with an 'offline' message in both rooms. The blade tells me that the DHCP usage is on, whereas the F3 DHCP settings are off.

I did have a post up about this, but it seems to have disappeared. A guy said I should check the IP addresses, but I don't know if they are supposed to be different ? I also run my pc network through the homeplug in the bedroom and have no problems.

    Can someone help

    Is your ethernet "Active"

    Menu
    Network local
    Network setting
    "Ethernet" Active
Then check Ethernet Setup for your DHCP ON

    Reboot Box
    Reboot Router.

    Hi DW,

Yep, checked all that. Here's the network settings from both STBs (I'm sure it's something here)

Blade 7000s (Works perfectly in both rooms)

    DHCP Usage On
    IP XXX.XXX.X.X
    Subnet XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
    Gateway XXX.XXX.X.X
    DNS XXX.XXX.X.XXX

    SKYBOX F3

    DHCP On
    IP XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
    Subnet XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
    Gateway XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
    DNS XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX

Have rebooted the F3 on numerous times, but still to no avail.

    cheers

Turn off dhcp on your Skybox.

And manually enter the following settings:

    IP
    Subnet
    Gateway
    DNS

Make sure to doublecheck all the zeros and ones are in the right place. This should work.

there is definitely something wrong with the settings. looks like your router on your blade is using 192.168.0.x so your skybox should also be using this format too. therefore asim18's fix should in theory work. try unplugging the skybox from the network and turning off. then turn it on and plug the ethernet port in. make sure that dhcp is turned on. also reboot router to refresh IP addresses. it wont work until the correct gateway and ip address is given to the skybox

Same thing kept happening with me on VM for weeks on end. I couldnt work out why it was online for a day and then offline the next.

So after footering with every setting going I finally worked out that the actual line off the street (cable to F connector) was faulty.

I kept getting offline and scrambled until I moved the cable feed about and it instantly went to online and a clear picture.

Turns out there was a small kink in the line in and although it wasnt affecting my VM box or internet (noticeably) it was affecting the sealion massively.

So there you go. Food for thought.
