These two tutorials work. I have tested. Repair tutorial saved my NEC adapter - it wasn't working before. And the connecting tutorial helped too. Finally got the NEC working on UPA! Soldering the 1-8 cables is still tricky - be careful on them.

I have this original programmer.
UUSP-S (UPA-USB Serial Programmer-S)
Black casing.

I read that some use a reworked clone 78K0 HC9s12 adapter.
Which should i buy? Red or green pcb?

Only need it for 1 single job, and i am also considering a original adapter.

Need it to read: Valeo bsi with nec 780949

red or green are the same shit ,same pcb errors,,not working at all and need to be reworked ,both.
better buy original adapter

There is a rework tutorial on the first page of this thread, thanks to Mario. It is (very)easy to do and after that it is unstoppable

unfortunately it isn't enough for many adapters which are coming from china .
There are many different version of green and red Chinese adapters .

The adapter from the pictures from the FIX from Mario looks the same to me, like both red and green (same position and same amount and type of components). Color of the PCB is just that - color. Doesn't mean anything.

Anyway - for me it is easy fix and works 100%. For you - it is your opinion and I don't know if you tested it?
