    Smile motorised dish

    hi all,
    first post on here.

ive just had a motorised dish installed, and im using a dm500. the dish installer tried connecting to thor then asked me to change channel to sky 1 , which didnt automatically move the the dish. he then just connected it to sky, which works.

the guy i bought the dreambox said its only been setup for single sat. i want to be able to connect to at least 2/3 sats. ive got mgcam setup on it and a New Horizons Diseqc 1.2 Motor

any idea on what i can try next would be great

    thank you
    Dan

why didnt the installer do it for you? he could have set it up manually and scanned in at least 1west,28east and 30west and then showed you how to add the others yourself. get yourself a vhannibal E1 list and put it on using dbedit, regards mdt

you need to put in your longitude/latitude into the box and download a channel list

    Default motorised setup

managed to get my dm500 working with my motorised dish.
ive told it to point to 0 degrees. which it has, however ive found that 0 degrees is sky (astra 28). this is what the engineer set it to..

can i manually configure it using my box, or will i need to go and physically move the dish? problem is i dont have a meter

    thanks

Usals is the easy way for a noob but it ain't the best on the dm500s box i've been told but that was my first box and it worked for me.
Just add your long and lat and a new set of bouquets and give it a go.

should zero not be a few degrees east of 1 degree west(thor),not 28.2it looks like your installer has set it to aim at 28.2 east and left
