Need to access files for download. Trying to fix my friends wii which has similar problem with usbloader crashing. Hope it's not his menuify mods which have broken it!

    Hi all.

I had this error pop up the other day when my son tried to play a game. I have no idea why it suddenly happened, but I'm guessing they did something to screw with it. Since my HBC was very out of date and USBLoader was still version 1.0, I started trying to upgrade everything.

I got d2x v8 and installed everything in it, but USBLoader was failing to run (it would drop back to the Wii channel screen). When trying to run from HBC, USBLoader would complain about missing/stubbed cIOSes.

I got all of the wads listed on page one of this thread (the full cios pack, the "my wad pack", etc.). I put MMM that came with the full cios pack along with the wads on the sdcard and installed them all.

I then got a fresh copy of the USBLoader_GX_V3_0_AllinOnePackage_IOS249.zip and installed that on the sdcard. I erased the old forwarded channel and re-installed the forwarder.

Now, USBLoader runs from HBC, but drops back to the Wii home screen when I try to run the forwarder channel.

The only thing I notice in syscheck output is that I don't have an IOS236 -- is that the problem?

    Welcome to DK.

Homebrew isn't out of date its 1.1.0 the same as mine.

I don't know who's softmod tutorial you followed but there is one IOS missing totally IOS236 I don't know how any game attempts to run.

There are a few IOS's that need updating. The easiest way is download ModMii6.2.7 and run it from Windows. On the main menu type in SU and type in the location of the sysCheck.csv from the sysCheck. Its easier to put this on the root of a drive as it saves typo's.

That will download all wads and apps that are missing into a COPY_TO_SD sub folder. Add all files and folders to your SD card and run Homebrew with the SD card inserted.

First of run IOS236 Installer v5 Mod and install IOS36 as IOS236, you must do this before you install any other wads. Come back out and run Multi-Mod-Manager and select WAD Manager this will default to the wad folder install all wads in there, read the instructions at the bottom for which buttons to press. Install the other wads that ModMii gave you, watch for the Installed OK message after each one. If any don't install just try them again.

If you want to remove IOS16 Stub then install my cIOS16-v257 that won't improve anything only remove that Stub.

You will find that the Shopping Channel won't work anymore it will say you need to do a system update but don't bother just download and add RVL-Shopping-21.wad to the wad folder and install it with MMM. RVL-Shopping-21

    Then post a new sysCheck.

    Thanks, Keithuk!

I knew 236 was missing, but didn't know why. I originally modded this thing a few years ago and haven't done much with it since except rip games to the HDD and happily use USBLoader.

I think what happened is that one of the kids put a game in the drive, and the "system update" popped up, so they selected it but cancelled. That screwed some stuff up.

I was trying to fix it myself coping files to the SD card instead of installing and using ModMii, but I'm now a convert. That was really easy!

Here's the updated syscheck, which now reflects a fully working system with the latest USBLoader forwarder:

If you had a brain like your username says you should have posted a sysCheck19 report as instructed in that link, just like levins did without asking.

Strange thing happened to mine today. I updated WiiFlow from 2.2 to 4.2 to try it out. I played a game no problem but when I exited it should go back to WiiFlow but it didn't if showed the same screen as the picture Exception (DSI) occurred. It counts down reloading in XX seconds but it doesn't reload anything I had to turn it off to reset it. I didn't like 4.2 so I put 2.2 back and things exit as they should. I've never had this error before.

    Hi everybody,

Hope you can help me. I've been trying to get a Wii modded correctly for weeks now.
Already tried various SD cards and 2 different harddrives that work on another Wii. I can't seem to find out what's going on.
It used to work perfectly with USB Loader GX, then somebody messed things up and now i can't seem to get the USB to work anymore.
USB Loader GX and Configurable Usb Loader will not recogize any hard drive. WiiFlow will recognize it, but trying to start a game ends up in a DSI error.

There doesn't look anything seriously wrong with that sysCheck apart from IOS16 but thats no big deal.

Well if WiiFlow shows the Exception (DSI) occurred like me then you need to put back an older version like 2.2 as I found out a couple of days ago.

If your using the latest USB Loader GX 3.0 there shouldn't be a problem. CFG USB Loader should be v70 on its own not 222 or additional numbers.

Thank you for your quick reply Keith. Would it make any difference if i repaired IOS16? Perhaps i could use PimpMyWii for that.
I think i downloaded the latest version of CFG USB, but i will make sure to check that again. Where can i find an old version of WiiFlow?

    Thanks again for your support.

As I said installed IOS16 won't really help your problem but if you want to remove the Stub then download cIOS16-v257 and add that wad to the wad folder on the SD card and install it with Multi-Mod-Manager (MMM) v13.4.

Now because the older WiiFlow 2.2 isn't available to download I've now added it in the Wii Dowloads section WiiFlow2.2-249. If your having problems when you exit WiiFlow with the Exception (DSI) occurred error then add this older version to the SD card and try it.

No luck yet. WiiFlow 2 will pop up with the picture to insert a USB harddisk in the slot.
I've also updated PriiLoader, but that didn't do much good either.
I'm now trying to reinstall system menu 4.1 and perhaps reinstall the whole bunch of IOS wads.

Is there a way to start all over again and could that actually help?

Well the ideal way to get it close to the original 4.1 is to use the NAND restore thats if you did a NAND backup when it was softmodded, thats doubtful.

The other this is uninstall PriiLoader or disable online updates and let it update to 4.3 then resoftmod correctly with LetterBomb, personnally I would use this option.
