Of course its a publicity stunt and a very clever one as his football career is ending soon he craves to stay in the limelight.

David Beckham is a very astute guy and nowhere near the idiot he was portrayed by the press in the early stages of his career. He's marketed himself perfectly by turning himself into a brand over the years and with this latest stunt will continue to do so long after he hangs up his boots. I commend him for that!

I would say its more good management than astute brain but your right it is publicity but at the same time he didnt need to do it he is popular wherever he goes and whatever he does

After his career is finally finished i would still expect him to be very busy with tv work, modelling and in some kind of ambassadorial job maybe for united or england or other sporting events

He is giving it away cause the French Government would take most of anyway. It's not like he needs the money. It will give him a nice tax break from his endorsement contract. The only reason rich people donate money is to save money. you would do the same thing if you were him.
