    hi

    I have skybox f5 anyone know if you can record while watching a different channel, if you can how do you do it.

    I think the answer is no I cant, if that is the case why have I 2 lnb inputs, 1 I think says loop.

    No you can't one is for lnb input other is loop out its used to connect another box with a run of cable.

    as stated , loop out is for running another box ....but not recommended for many reasons....

    Best bet would be to add another stb , and use one for watching and the other for recording....Many ppl have/use more than one box ....

    The signal from the Loop out is cut when the Openbox/Skybox is powered on, any box connected via the Loop out will lose its signal until the Skybox/Openbox is powered down again...

    Not a cheap Skybox or Openbox... There are other makes of receivers with dual tuners, but they cost considerably more...
