What about changing the mcu of the original slave to a clone master?

Would it be enough to make the slave work as master ? (with the counter limit, of course).

I think you will end up with a clone master running on sw version 1.89 so only worth doing if your KESS slave is not worth very much money in first place.

I tried to write an original sw to an ecu (Bosch) with kess v2 clone today but was unable to do so with a message "security code is not ready" or something to do with security code. Does any one know what is this? any help would be appreciated

you'll read crypted file, and you can write only file crypted by your master affiliate

the file in the car is poorly tuned. I managed to get another similar sw which i was told is an original. tried to flash without success. the security code error came up. Just trying to find out what the error means.

Hi it's not an error but is tprot , how is say the didi_du - make it on the bench on boot mode , and you not go na have problems .
Write what is happened after that are is fine .

security code error come up on T-Prot ecu when try to flash by obd
work ok on bootmode and tprot protocol

thanks everyone for the advise and help. Just for information sake, I managed to read the ecu but not write. I will try to bench flash it.

BTW not sure if this information is helpful.. I bought the kess v2 clone last month. I asked about the counter limit and this is their reply;

Kess V2, the item can support more than 500 times before. but now i heard from manufacture that, the item do not have such problem, the item we sent you is new one.

I don't know man are it true that .
All of the people here have counters problem i think and we will have it but have the solution now .
Today i receive my kess v2 clone and i am happy , now i only need to make the little changes to work with edc 17 and med 17 and all well be fine , i hope so when i read or write some of the i will write here what i happened .
