Don't think counter will be on SD, but for sure is something that can be tested, format SD and copy again the working files from this thread over it to see if the warning about 8 flashes remaining disappear.

You can also try to unrar again the kess v2 software
because i've seen "SystemData.s3d" file being modified
each time i open the software.
I think the counter should be inside the microcontroller
but we need to try all the ways...

I have this problem too on kess v2 (counter of flash) and ktag locked by update.
But i have bought original kess v2 and ktag
Want to.repair my clones
Does someone has solution for this?
I have tested to write sdcard with another dump
Nothing change

i think it lock before 50 cars....i don't think i have flashed 50 cars in a month....i think that lock could be at 20-30 flash at max.

spoke to Jo at gocardiag.com and he said he is not aware of a 50 time out ( I was actualy talking about KTAG) but on his web page for the product he says that if you let the program conect to the mothersite it will lock the tool up and there will be a repair charge.
My point :-
if they can repair the lock out maybe he will repair the time out? Maybe he will sell the "chip" that needs reprograming?
Just a thought.

Did you try to change Kline pull up resistors?
or did you go on CAN?
