    Default Strange problem Focus 1.6TDCi

2008 Ford Focus 1.6Tdci PSA engine. Car occasionally gives momentary hiccup. Allways only for 1/4 or 1/2 second stutter. Can happen hot or cold cruising or accelerating. Seems totally random. Happened 2 or 3 times on first test drive. Drove car for 10 miles only happened once. Originally 4 faults stored but none of these have returned.
    Original faults
    U0073 Can Communication Bus Fault
    P193B Throttle/Pedal fault
    P1936 Clutch switch/sensor signal
U0416 Invalid data received from VDM

Don't know if these have any relation to the problem, because no faults now. Where do you start.
Just thought I'd put it up in case anyone has come across similar.

It's the clocks causing the problem, bad connection.

When your Instrument loses connections the CAN System Malfunctions and it triggers the Engine Management Light as there is NO instrument malfunction light...........

It also records fault codes in Engine ECU.........Also don't forget the instrument is part of immobilizer system on this vehicle......

Even if you look in BCM you will see some fault codes for instrument malfunction.........

    Thanks Ash

No faults in BCM, ABS or instrument. Only faults were those mentioned above in engine and they didn't reappear even though problem was still there.

My friend if you agree the instrument is faulty and causing this kind of fault which will also cause some times not to start.............

Then WHY you want him to spend his money to change the fuel filter and clean EGR system.............???????????????????

    Thanks Ash

    Start from + and ground
    or wiring loom under battery
I can help you but only if you want me to help you
All the questions should start from what car, what year, what engine is what fuel. What are the symptoms of the problem. Only then is what you know, what fault code, live data, what you have done.

just follow the wires from pedal potentiometer to the dash.
    is 3 wires.
pedal send signal to dash, then from can bus dash send signal to ecu.
cut off old wires and add new.
this works for me in many focus.
    here the diagram.
