    Smile Sat meter

    Anyone recommend a sat meter / finder there are lots on ebay and seem very cheap.
    Looking to move my dish Arabsat 26 east.

    Thats coz there are cheap about 5 to 7 quid unless you get a digital one.Not sure why you posted in the pc section and not sat welcome to D-K m8.................

    try the sathero range i found mine quite reasonable and good.
    if your trying to get admc sports you will need at least a 2/3 metre dish if your in the uk

    i had dishpointer on my phone and it tells you roughly where the sats are but so does a compass

    Simple meters are better than nothing... But it's so easy to line up to the wrong satellite! The spacing between them can be so small that moving the lnb an inch will give you another bird! So being able to see the tv is a must to verify the correct one (unless your expensive meter tells you)
    I use an android app to give an approximation, then a meter to zero in... The app mentioned above is a great step forward, being able to do all this whilst up the ladder is a big plus.... And you don't need a meter!

    That particular one links to your Linux receiver via Wi-Fi and gives you the readings from the box itself. Satellite Director is not bad but you need a steady hand and its pretty accurate it also like dishpointer relies on GPS
