Question Problem with Ford Courier 1.8D

    hi all,
i would like to ask if anyone has experience with Courier or Fiesta 1.8D cause we started to disassemble the whole engine and while the head was removed a part fall on the ground look's like the piston for the vacuum pump but 3x times smaller Picture 007.jpgPicture 006.jpg
I have no idea where it came from but i am almost 99% sure that it is from either from the engine or the transmission but while they were still in place.
please if any one could help or at least say which software has the disassemble instructions for older fords because i have ford eCat and there isn't any info for this.

    Thanks in advance.

STUPID question - looking at the bad photo - it looks like the end of a masionary drill bit?

is /was it lathered in thick black oil - does it smell - sniff the gearbox oil.

the problem from the beginning was that the engine was left without water and blue the head gasket we started to disassemble the engine removed the head sow that we have to replace the piston's with new one's but before we unmount the engine with the gearbox this part fall from somewhere and we can't figure it out
