    Default help with harddrive

    guys need some help please added a usb 250gb hdd to my dreambox and cant get it to work , have tryed going to setup then down to harddrive and then initalize then it will format it and ask to reboot box when i press the red botton to record i get a message saying no hdd found or hdd not initalized ??? using img DREAM ELITE V.133DV3 PHOENIX EDITION for SIM1-2 . have also reflashed box to BlackHole-1-6-6-dm800hd-ramiMAHER-v3 and still having same probs, the hdd will format then will ask to reboot and set path then i press red botton to record i get no hdd found or hdd not initalized

    i havnt used blackhole image for sometime, maybe you could try a more up to date image like dreamboxuk. everything just works for me with this image

    when i install a harddrive i just press blue button twice then goto device manager and mount from there

    you could try this download tunisiasat ipk file and install it then in the tunisiasat panel in addons.
    Goto tunisiasat and down load TSpanel(latest version) restart engima.
    Then in the addons go to TSpanel and use the device manger option and format in ext3 follow the instructions
    Then switch off and back on your box
    when the box reboots it should be ok.

    thanks m8 have also tryed that iam thinking its a imgs problem or maybe a hdd problem. harddrive is seeing by the box and also pc where i did a format

    i use the BlackHole-1-6-6-dm800hd-ramiMAHER-v3 image
    and have a 320gb hard drive mounted so i doubt it's the image
    i would take the hard drive and connect to a pc and delete the partition completly
    now connect back up to the dreambox this will see it as a virgin drive and it should partition it and format to a linux partition

    thanks for taking the time to reply guys all fixed now, had to use a tool Formatter_v2.5 and gparted , could not get any dreambox img to format the drive

    Thanks firestorm.. This solved my problem.. My HDD was able to initialize initially then after a while it was not able to mount itself.. Been searching for solution and this actually solves it.. I guess, need to format to ext3 then your HDD can work..
