Hello there. i know this is old, but could you tell me what software did you use to read/write the 28F400 chips?
I´m trying to read a volvo cem and i need to see if with the parallel interface connections i can read/write... but i dont know what software to use...

If the 28F400 chip only contains the necessary data, what is stopping someone from desoldering the 28F400 chip from the damaged CEM unit, and soldering it into the replacement? Assuming both modules carry the same chip, is cloning necessary or can the chip simply be installed in another unit? Thanks

Hi all, I have problem with cem Volvo S80. In hot condition CEM lost communication and car not start. Just wait cold and start restart. I changed 28F400 MITRONICS for replace with INTEL. Now car have problem when I start car and stop it after 3 minutes CEM lost communication. Need to do ignition on and off for wake CEM. But 3 minutes after using car. I think 28f400 intel is not same at microtronics.
Original 28f400 is 28F400B5 and new chip is INTEL 28F400BXT120. If anyone can help me it will be good because my customer is furious.

I already changed it first time but same problem on hot condition (57 degres). Since I changed 28f400 no problem on hot condition but problem for starting car. I think 28f400 intel has not same. Power latch 3 minutes. If anyone have information of datasheet between intel AB28F400B5B80 and intel PA28F400BXT120. Thanks

The CEM number must match. If you use another number - then it won't work.

Same model same reference just 28f400 intel and not MT for repair hot condition.

Hello guys,

So, i was able to read the CEM data (Thanks to Holtek for info on programmer and all the Support) and program / add 2 new transponder keys with CarProg.
I had a problem with CEM making a constant sound like a relay working, but it seems to be related to the "Write" process. I programed again CEM and its all ok.
But after connection to the car, i have no communication in OBD2 with none of the Car Modules... (ECU/TCM/CEM, ABS, etc...)

Does anyone know what could be the issue?

We tried to turn on the car, and it gives signal, but car has no spark. Fuel pump seems to be working because in Injectors Rail, we have gasoline "coming out" (if we open "valve")
Also, there is nothing in the Dash showing and all the door, windows, sunroof controls dot work...
Only thing that works is AC and Stereo...

Does anyone have any idea what could this be?
Can this be CEM related?
I was able to get a used CEM but they are different part numbers... Can i just program New CEM with the bin y prepared with the transponders and check it out?

If anyone has any ideas, i would appreciate...

The chip is an Intel 28F400 chip
I used the USB BDM tool to read/write the chip

Hello, I'm trying to read flash from CEM 08688513 (Micron flash) using usb BDM method. Using TCEM04.xml config file, it doesn't recognise the flash so I can't read it. I have used same device and config file to successfully read another CEM (HW PN 9452596) with Intel flash. CAn anyone help?

Have you tried the Volvo config file that comes with the software?
I only had read the Intel flash, so i cant give you much help...
Try to speak with user Holtek.
He helped me and imI pretty sure he can help you on this...
Did you check if its your cables connection to the pcb?
