    Default renault megane wont start

    hi, ive had this car now for just over a year, its just gone through its m o t no probs just 2 bulbs a that was all, but over the past few days its started to act up, when i have drove it for about 10-20 mins and leave it for an hour or two it just will not start, got the AA out it took him just over an hour to get to me, he sat in the car turned the inginition and it started and i had been sat there for just over half an hour trying to start it and nothing, does anyone know wot htis could be as it has happend about 3-4 times now but always starts after about an hour,,,,,weired,,,,cheers..chris..

    If you did'nt hear the starter then it's the starter .
    Did it started the engine and it woult'nt run then maybe the engine speedsensor F0986280407.jpg

    Change the TDC ( on side block above gearbox )

    hi guys, cheers for reply's,, tryed to get the tdc off but its in a dodgy possition to get to but i did notice the bolts on the tdc were a little loose so i have tightend them as thight as i can, wounder if that sorts it????????..cheers....c

    nah its a renault well known issue when hot they go down so i would be changing it before it happens again.

    Or carry a bucket if cold water in the trunk. Use when hot

    Was refering to dump the cold water on crank sensor

    the guy that suggested that us currantly dead now

    I find a can of brake cleaner does the job well

    Ninja water is cheaper than brake cleaner, but if your doing that you can use lighter fluid in aresol can

    OFF TOPIC BUT VALUD POINT

    Brake cleaner is very very very flamable fill a radio with dome, drop a match in it goes up quick

    not really as they cut out themselves when hot,not very nice if doing a ton on the motorway,be like bye bye you and car when you meet an 18 wheeler up your ass,its not a thing you want to ignore for safety sake.
