Default vu duo clone stuck on red light and 'starting' on LCD screen

    Hello

    Hoping someone can help.

I have seen few threads re the dreaded red light but mine is also displaying starting message on the LCD screen. I have tried flashing with another image but to no avail. I used a 16gb usb Kingston drive.

I have heard that there is a fix via the Ferrari forums but it seems so complicated. I have also been told that a Replacement chip of 3.2 can do the trick. I have ordered one which comes flashed already do just a matter of putting the image on.

Any help will be much appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi

What version is your clone duo?

Have you tried doing the v3.2 update? only if you have v3 box

its a v2 at the moment but I've been told an upgrade to the 3.2 will do the job.

is there a fix for the v2 red light and starting problem?

For you to replace the chip you willl need to take out your board from you box and desolder the v2 chip and then resolder the v3 chip in. Once that is done then you can then put your image on.

I've got a mate that has good soldering skills so I have shown him a guide that's readily available. I might also upgrade the capacitor from 220 uF 16v to 330uF 25v 105c. Anyone know anything about these capacitors? Could it also be a possible corrupt boatloader that may be causing the issue? I don't think it's a psu issue as its starting. Others have just the red light and that's it.
