Default Autocom (new 2013) VCI Interface Issue

    hi,
usualy when plug to OBD (power it with 12V) the blue rectangle has to be shown on as a selftest of the computer inside the interface.
but mine does not turn on any led when plug to 12V, but if i plug then the USB to the laptop it`s showing red light rectangle,
the virtual COM port is prsent (the FTDI) but when i try to test hardvare red is blincking and software is returning the message " No VCI Found"
that means the MCU inside interface does not reply.

does anyone here is having the same experience or issue as mine? i have allready two cables with same behaviour.
what is the receipt of the remedy ? is it hardware failure or the MCU does not boot and has to be refirmwared by JTAG?
    i say thanks in advance!

Can you post a pic of the vci
what dopsleutel13 is asking you is to dismantle the vci (4x screws) take out the pcb board check it for poor or broken solder

when connected to 12v only and not usb there should be power cdp+ ( blue leds or red if vci is bricked/ dead) you dont so board is not getting 12v

if you only purchased this unit recently ship it back to 1 dodgy seller register a dispute with paypal

have you ever see the rain, on a sunny day?
stay close to the subject, NO BLUE LIGHT WHEN PWR ON [plug on OBD of any car], but after this connecting USB, RED regtangle does show up.

sounds pretty close to the subject. i will try to find Zmann`s job.
what hardware i need as jtag programmer? i dont have any jtag at all.
in the far past i was using some jtag to reflash motorola startac phones
to change language package, but it was 15 years ago, the interface is lost from years.

Any programmer that supports arm stm32 mcu 32bit here's 2 dump files from Zmann's for a st-linkv2 programmer

    don't use 2013.1 = crap

    use 2012.3 software stable

this is the way i did it was just to keep neat (plug & play)
one 2x5 pin smt hardwin header (in pic above just to make it easier for future use)
one female 2x5pin header to solder jtag wires to for pcb
one female 2 x 10pin header again to solder jtag wires for st-linkv2

the ease way is to solder the boot wire, then power on again to enter bootmode for flashing with ST flash demonstrator from ST site.
