i had one a volvo S80 biturbo and ecu was bosch, next to the transimsion one.
you ll have to replace ecu, CEm and key. CEm has the middle part as of a rack..it slides out

    hi
    maybe help you
Volvo S40 2004-2009, V50 2004-2009, C30 CEM repair and synchronization with SID803 motor ECU utility.

    How immobilizer works on Volvo S40 2004-2009, V50 2004-2009, C30 :
Immobilizer data (immo) on these cars are stored in the Central electric module (CEM) located in driver compartment fuse box.
CEM receive transponder key signal from immobilizer coil and if key data is equal to the vehicle.
Send synchronization signal to motor ECU.
If transponder key is stored in CEM and synchronization data CEM-ECU is correct,
the CEM permits the engine to start.
Motor ECU also is synchronized with ABS computer ID.
For the SID803 ECU replacement, you must also read ABS ID (you can read ABS ID with Launch X431, Diagun or other tool by OBDII) and write it to the SID803.

    How to use this program:
Most common problems on these cars is that the synchronization is lost between the CEM-ECU after a battery discharge.
In motor ECU fault code "No communication with immobilizer" is active and car does not start.
Remove CEM and read with CarProg A10 adapter processor EEPROM - see picture for details.
Also remove SID803 and read 95320 EEPROM.
Open both files and write synchro data from CEM to SID803.
Also write ABS serial ID. Save the SID803 modified file and write it to SID803.
If you need to program second-hand motor ECU - procedures are the same.

Volvo S40 2004-2009, V50 2004-2009, C30 CEM repair and synchronization with SID803 motor ECU utillity. UPDATED!!! V2.4 - Small soft

Did the same successfully on my b5244s2 (140hp) and flashed the immo to a b5244s (170hp) ECU. Only copied 93c56 using carprog. But I remember something like 256 Byte...
I search for the immo file, so maybe you could compare... (PM with mail?)
