Default CU1216 tuner VS NXP Tuner

    Hey Xperts!

I've got someone who is asking me this qim question.
He is asking me if i want my box with a CU1216 tuner or an NXP tuner.
And telling me NXP has to pay a little more. ( 6USD )

Any bros out there can help identify which is "better"?

Cause my 800 was using a "philips" tunner thats all i know...

CU1216s' though being a Phillips tuner are mostly made in China, specially for the clones. NXP, if you're lucky, you might get one Made in Taiwan. Even then you might still need a signal amplifier to make it work if you're staying in older estates and/or higher floors.

Bottomline: If you're lucky signal is very good once you plug in, if not there's still some work to be done ...
