Default scrambled channels on skybox f5

    Hi there

Im new to the forum and a bit of a novice to all this but hopefully someone can help.

I purchased 2 skybox f5 from the same person, both preloaded with cline. I have one in my living room right next to the router, which is hardwired. It works fine with no scrambled channels and good picture.

The other box is in a bedroom about 8 metres from the router. When connected initially it worked fine for a few days but now I regularly get all channels scrambled apart from channels 1-4. I was using homeplugs so tried running an ethernet cable but the same thing is happening.

I have a 6.5 Mbit/s download speed on my internet connection. This should be sufficient to run 2 boxes?

Any help would be much appreciated

Firstly read the rules no talking about clines. These boxes are notorious for having bad internet connection. If using homeplugs make sure they are direct into plug socket and not a gang that can cause bad connection. Best thing to do is go into network settings turn the Dhcp off and on and reboot the box that normally sorts it, Andy

The first thing I would do is swap the boxes around to see if it's the connection or the box causing the problem.

More than likely an IP conflict.

You could give the boxes static IPs.

    Thanks for the response guys.

I tried both boxes with static ip's but still only one box seems to work. All channels scrambled apart from free to air. It seems that both boxes will work fully for a couple of days, then one scrambles for a week or more. After a number of days If I turn DCHP off and then back on the channels return.

I'm assuming its an issue on providers end so will contact them
