Default 'Cars ploughed into each other like a concertina... it was horrific': Witnesses descr

Eyewitnesses of the Sheppey car crash this morning have described how vehicles 'ploughed into each other like a concertina'.

A 100-vehicle pile-up on a bridge in heavy fog left at least six people seriously injured and 200 suffering minor wounds in what witnesses described as 'carnage'.

No one is believed to have died in the crash on the new Sheppey crossing bridge in Kent. It started at around 7.15am and continued for 10 minutes as cars and lorries crashed into each other in visibility that was down to 20 yards.

One witness, who would not be named, told Kent Online: 'There was debris on our side of the road from the accident, then we saw the first part of the crash - there was cars, lorries, vans, ploughed into each other like a concertina...I've never anything like this before in my life.'

Because those cars on trailers are classified as scrap cars.

Miraculous my arse, its the consequence of 50 years of constantly improving vehicle safety design, mind you makes me wonder when we have s***d camera 24/7 why not fog early warning signs is not used often?? Many cars sold in the USA are fitted with photoelectric sensors that automatically switch on the dipped headlights in the case of warning, although we in UK most cars are fitted with rear parking sensor system; our govt should force the motor industry to come up with the early warning for sensor.

It also makes a fine case for the government to fit s***d limiters/black boxes to cars....... the timing of this is impeccable, more than a coincidence.
