Is that the SIM PIN or the Phone Lock code/password/pattern?

SIM PIN is easy. Enter codes until the phone asks for the PUK. Call the network for the PUK.

Phone lock is a little harder & will result in total loss of personal data (pictures, contacts, apps, etc)
First option, also the easiest. Turn phone off & remove battery for min 10 seconds then put battery in.

Press & hold volume up, home & power buttons.

It might take several attempts but you will eventually get to a boot screen. If the phone starts to turn on normally just remove the battery & try again.
Using the volume up/down buttons scroll down to wipe user data/factory reset.
Not sure if you have to press the home button or power to select. Then scroll down past the cancel/no options to factory reset & press power.
The phone will restart to the boot menu, press power to select reboot phone now.

If that doesn't work you'll need to flash the phone with new software. But I'll not confuse you with that just yet. Post back with the result.
