    Default BMW 740 ME5.2 need info/help to clone DME ME 5.2 CC460

I have this old DME out of a 1997 BMW 740.
    DME BOSCH 0 261 203 474 (0261203474)
    BMW# 1 429 578

What is the easiest way to replace original damaged DME for a second hand unit?

Swapping CC460 is enough to have the vehicle running again? Is DME / EWS pairing needed?

Should I do it with GT1/SSS - INPA - BMW SCANNER (vehicle isn't here....so How to wire the rig?)

Does Galleto 2 2012 can work on this DME?

Which programmer works with this CC460?

    Any help please!

    Thanks

    need to swap CC460.
or read isn from new one ecu and put to ews.
i think the batronix bx48 batego II programmer and an plcc68 socket read this chip.
galletto read only part of flash for tuning.

    You need inpa diagnostics.
    Read dme page1, page2 and page3.
    Post here the screen shot.

Thanks guys. ... I'll look for a programmer that read cc460. In the mean time I will play with inpa to try that solution. ... I'll post later. .

Etas made a programmer for these chips years ago.
ETAS - Innovative L?sungen, Engineering-Dienstleistungen, Consulting und Support f?r die Entwicklung von Embedded Systemen.
It was not sold to the public.
Other programmer is the parallel port device that had been sold by EVC. Out of production also.

Yes need desolder and resolder cc460, this contains vin, isn... some tools can read cc460 but non fullread... batego bx-48 can read full with socket... but also need desoldering.

Resurrecting old thread for information updating purposes.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO JUST SWAP THE CC460 CHIP FOR DME CLONING. THE REPLACEMENT DME WILL JUST NOT ACCEPT THE CC460 CHIP. THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.

Something else must be at play here. Maybe some security information programmed into the Intel chip. I'm still working on trying to find out more. I've been trying for a while now to get a full read from a cc460 chip out of circuit to no avail.

The C Clamp is there to temporarily test cc460 in original dme to verify it works in original dme and not in test socket on test dme.

Please share a full read for the m62b44. Also how did you do it? What I found is that the cc460 does not read in another DME than the original. Maybe different versions on the m62 engine. Catalyst preparation etc.
