should be no different with 2in1 , iver never had one thats been an issue , including a brand new 2013 model where the dealer had locked keys inside in showroom.

2001 plus should be the gen 2 lock of 2up 2 down config , so pick positions 1 , 5 , 8 and 4 in their binding order first until all are slapping , then pick positions 2 , 3 , 6 and 7 in their binding order to open.

some are clutched so beware using too much tension , and always flush out well if locks never used as that grease they uses bakes and can give misfeels if cacked on and dry, so flush well and work wafers with a rake to free them all up.

to date ive never failed on an audi with lishi , and not had one that took longer than a few mins once flushed .

Yeah i get on with these pretty fine few mins max, u are going to get the tricky ones sometimes, sat around one for 15 mins, after all the lock was open, stiff lock and I wasn't twisting hard enough.

you always get a bad one , weather and long periods of no use play havoc on wafers , thus need for flushing sometimes

Clean lock is especially important if you have a tendency to over lift like I do when I get in a hurry. Grease will hold tumbler in overlift position sometimes. I move the main body of the of the pick up and down just a little (Not the turn arm) seems to help a little when I think I'm close but it is not going. I think it helps let overlifts drop down to shearline.

with audi you can also have the extra cut 9th wafer. the lock will turn but wont unlock the car.
the only solution is to read the lock and cut extra cut blade.

Ive not had much experience with this lock type with the 'extra' cut/wafer, is this cut the same on all locks or does it differ?

Only asking as every key that ive seen with this extra cut always looks to be the the same cut on the 9th position??

Extra cut? Are we talking about the extended series? I cut these as normal 8 waffer locks seems to work fine.

9th cut is always the same. dont know exactly how it works as im to lazy to take lock apart.
if the lock does turn but doesnt unlock the car then you have 9th wafer which is equal to extra cut.
miracle has an extra cut hu66.

yes - ive opened every hu66 lock, even latest ones, never had to cut a key to gain entry, my cayenne has this extra cut on the key, I picked door lock on it yesterday in 30 seconds, no need to cut any keys.

Is this cut just for ign lock?

my mate had one of those - tt 2001 ish. lock did turn and didnt unlock the car.
from what i know - new cars has extra cut for ignition purposes. older audi (apparently only audi) have this extra cut in the door lock.
not all cars have it. maybe you have been lucky ninja.
its info is worth to remember just in case you turn the lock and the car wont unlock.

training is key to success on lishi. in the past i was struggling.
but after understanding how to use it and few hours training i have 5 2008+ locks done within 10 minutes.
its in the workshop and locks are brand new. on the road in the rain with dirty lock it would take bit longer.
but done 2007 caddy the other week and it didnt take more than 4 minutes
