    after scanning it fault codes
P0350 ignition coil A control circut malfunction
P0351 ignition coil A control circut malfunction
P0352 ignition coil A control circut malfunction
P0353 ignition coil A control circut malfunction
I have tried a new coil pack
    I have tried crank sensor
    its got new spark plugs
after pulling my hair out with it i thought i would play safe and
give it to local main dealer.... Bad move , I was charged ?87 for one hour diagnostic only to be told the vehicle needed a coil pack and a set of plugs i had told them before they started that i had tried a new coil pack and the owner had fitted new plugs two days ago bought from same dealer
    What a sham
    anyone any ideas

have you checked wiring? connectors, both on ecu and ignition coil? Could you be more specific on engine type and year of manufacturing?

hi lads the vehicle is a 2001 vaux astra ,1-4 z14xe, miles 53,000 cllean well looked after car,
customer brought it in with fault ,very hard to start when hot and cold it was only a problem for a few days prior to that.
i had the use of a donor vehicle so i put donor coil pack on vehicle no start- So i put problem car coil pack on donor and it started first time.
when vehicle does start i am seeing the revs hanging when changing gears until normal temp

has some idiot remaped the ecu or installed a resistor between the lambda sensor and ecu to retard the timings?

ie had fiends who do this kind of shit because it "giev moar hoarzpowarz makan fastar drift sideways zoom ability" or some such shite

Ok, from the things you wrote we can see there's no signal from ecu, so as I wrote before, check installation, wiring, thats the first thing, later on you can check sensors...

by the way have you checked camshaft sensor?

just had a prob on a 1.6, 8 valve astra, older than yours 95, would cut out then strugle to start turned out to be the coolant temp sensor in the inlet manifold, and the egr valve was stuck shut.

From what you have said there would seem to be a signal problem to the coil pack, check the power feed to the coil packs then check that you are getting the trigger - from the ecu at the coil connector, if you are not then check at the ecu connector.

I repair a lot of these ecu's for this fault but you need to check that the above to discover the cause.

If you clear the codes do they come back right away on start up?

Let me know and we can go from there.

Because i am a specialist of Opel Brand (I am a dealer shop) your problem is your "Main Fuel Injection Control Unit" (IF the trouble codes it's going from ORIGINAL TECH-2 equipment) and you tried a NEW Coil Pack...

All this trouble codes, in the OPEL TIS 2000 (program for Service) they gives to change with a NEW Coil Pack OR Fuel Injection Control Unit!!!

So the Original Part Number you want is:
    Catalog Number is 62 35 008
    General Motors Number is 9391340

Finally i want to say that's is a Know "BAD" problem for OPEL Brand after some years...

    Hi cmichyobo

Have to agree with patrian about the ecu. Providing the crankshaft sensor is working (check by looking at rpm in live data on your scan tool to confirm the ecu is receiving the signal) and the coil pack has power, then if you have one, scope the signal wires from the ecu to the coil for a switching signal, if there is no signal then there's a good chance the ecu is at fault. If there is a switching signal and good spark then as jonniebravo said check the cam sensor the car will run without this sensor but as its responsable for fuel delivery on time, without it the ecu has to look at the crank signal to work out rough fueling causing poor starting.

Lets do it to them... before they do it to us...

Dont try another coil pack or ecu without finding the problem, I repair these all day long, if you replace either without findin the cause you could damage the new part in seconds.

If the ecu is dammaged it needs to be checked to find out the cause, the most common cause of ecu failure on this engine is from a faulty coil and a new coil must be fitted at the same time if the ecu is replaced.
