Default Renault clio mk2 1.4 16v intermittent non starter

    Hello Guys.

I am working on this Clio mk2 with an intermittent non starter problem.

With the original UCH connected I cannot diagnose any of the cotrol modules, UCH is a sagem p8200065817, with the UCH unpluged I can communicate with all modules. I faulted the UCH so I bought one off flea bay and swapped the eeprom and plugged it in. Now I can communicate with all modules and the UCH but I still have an intermittent start problem. What happens is that the security light on the cluster blinks when the ignition is on, I have no indictors, wipers, power windows and I know the car will not start. I have checked the connectors at the front fuse box and everything is ok- no green stuff.

    thanks

This can also be caused by poor contact in a multi connector 12p. The plug is located on the driver's side, under the cover between the windshield and the engine compartment and is accessible when the cover is removed from the wiper shafts..

    Hello
Circusbenz, I had a look for this connector and can find nothing.

The intermittent start problem seems to have dissapeared(for now)

Here is another symptom that I have discovered. The rev counter and temperature gauge stop functioning when the problem occurs. as well as the one touch window on the drivers side stops functioning but the window works normally. When this happens the engine sort of has a hiccup. It only happens for a few seconds and theneverything returns to normal

    Damn this car

just to add to this one of our signboards was blown off and landed on this cars bonnet. Now I have to repair that as well

Just use the bent bonnet as a new signboard.

Does sound like UCH at fault from what you say.

can you get a voltmeter on the battery live to the RADIO for testing?
