    Default Programmers

I am looking to start the vehicle Ecu, immo, clocks repair servicing and would like to know which programmers I will be needing, and which adapters.

    I have acquired two programmers:

    Advantech Lab Tool-48
    and
    a Xeltek SuperPro/L+

I would like to know please:

1, Are both these good enough for me to cover everything to do with MCU and Eeprom reading writing?

2, Will I need adapters and if so which ones please?

3, I haven't any software for them what software do you recommend and where can I get it from please?

    Thanks in Advance

Thanks MAXIMUS1000, WOW you got a big collection, do they all do different things or you just got a collection acumulated over time?

Which ones of your collection do you consider to be the best? and which one covers majority of chips and the jobs you do?

Trouble is as I am new to all this, I don't know which to buy and which to leave as I don't want to waste money on things I won't be using.

Also I don't know how to tell which ones are original and which are fake (clones), and where to buy the original ones from.

Do you think the ones I got can be used? and for which chips are they useful for?

    Sorry about all the questions

    Thanks

    SARGE

Thanks Adam, I do understand that buddy

It's just that I'm unfamiliar with the components used therefore I am unaware what devices I will need. I haven't been able to find comprehensive data in this field as to the components used and devices needed.

I rebuilt my Audi from fire damaged, involving a complete strip down to bare shell and rewired/rebuilt, when it came to the immobiliser I got messed around a lot, but found it very interesting and decided to start up my own business.

I have Vag Hex Usb, Vag Tach 2.2 (but hex is corrupt in chip I think ) Vagxobd, and still adding.I want to be able to get the pin from ALL Vag cars (to start with) so that I can program new keys and then cut/supply keys too.

If your interested in reading My Audi story let me know, I think you'll find it interesting

    Thanks Buddy

    Does sound interesting mate!
I have a launch X431 diagnostic scanner a T300 key programmer and a universal dash programmer. Im a car sprayer and body repairer/mechanics/Diagnostic.
Im new to and learning how to bypass a immo and remove Crash data from airbag ECU and read the dumps in car radio eeproms.
maybe we can help each other on this as we go along.
Take alook here. its a start!
Copy and paste all of the link dont just click on the blue part.

I forgot to say its probably best to start with 8 pin smd eeprom which are normally 24xx 93xx 25xx this is a good programmer for this and cheap. 24Cxx, 93Cxx and 25xxx Serial Eeprom programmer E-EPROM on eBay, also Assemblies EM Devices, Components Supplies, Electrical Test Equipment, Business, Office Industrial (end time 14-Jun-09 14:08:29 BST)

And this is good for doing in circuit.

    Programmers IN-CIRCUIT SOIC Test Clip

With internal Eeproms which are in MCU its more difficult.
you can desolder these and read on board on your programmer or read in circuit which can also be difficult.
info on all this seems to be hard to come by.If you find stuff out let me know.
It took a while for me to find this out i hope it helps!

    Cheers

    Adam

Hey Adam, Thanks for your info, I have seen the little Eeprom proggy and am awaiting replies from several sites with regards to more equipment.
I was thinking of getting the T300 as well, but haven't spoken to anyone who had one to see what it is actually capable of in the real world, looks like your the man for that ...
Will it work with ALL vag K line and Can Bus? to read pins? also what other info does it extract from Vag Cars?

The X431 is an expensive bit of kit isn't it?
How useful do you find that on a day to day basis?

If course we can work together on this mate, look forward to it.

Oh here's that link to My Audi Rebuild I did.

the t300 is very good, it can extract pins of some vags, but the later vag range will not be possible for this as the program the dealers use is GEKO. They plug into their tool and send data to germany dealer then recieve data back to programme in,bit of a scam i know but nowt else can be done yet. So you see now that there is no tool available yet that can do this so vags around 2004 and later is a no go. Enless you can use immo killer on them. If all you want out of the t300 is to read pins i would not waste your money,It Programs keys on all vags no problem vag tacho is ok and alot cheaper. X431 is good , but only worth the money if you are in the trade. same with t300 really. You wont need a t300 if you can learn how to turn the immo off. Cheers Adam

Yes I got the info about the Geko. There must be a way around this and this is something I will explore.

I also have immo killer v1.1 (haven't used it, no interfaces as yet) and will look into that too. The Vag Hex Usb programs the keys anyway, it's just the pin issue. I hear the T300 may be useful on several other makes & models for key programming at least.

My aim is to start with Key/remote progamming, diagnostics, etc moving onto ecu, comfort unit, control modules repairs etc
With the Immo of issue while that is an option, I was thinking it would be better to return the car to original status of fully factory immobilised as opposed to killing the immo, which I think may have security/insurance implications etc

    Cheers
