Default Please suggest a brand new washing machine

My washing machine can't wash anymore because it needs a new motor.
Unfortunately the body is rusty and there are a lot of parts still original but 17.5 years are too much for electric and mechanic parts.
And the cost of a new or used motor is just silly.

    Can you suggest between:
1: AEG/Electrolux/Rex/Zanker/Zanussi (Zoppas and so on)
    2: Bosch/Siemens/Constructa
    3: Candy/Hoover
    4: Fagor-Brandt
    5: Merloni/Ariston/Indesit
    6: Whirlpool/Bauknecht/Philips
    7: Miele
In the shop found even Lg and Samsung.

Please report bad and good brands, and your experience.
    My parents are searching for:
    a) 5 to 7 Kg. No need for more kg.
    b) easy to check filter (and easy to open the door of the filter too)
    c) door inspection on the rear of the washing machine
    d) possibly long reliability (a dream?)
    e) maybe with the very good C.E.SET brush motor (17.5 years!)

    Thanks.

Thank you. I was thinking to buy the very last Zoppas with mechanical timer. It's an old model dated 2010.
This is the last occasion in the history to buy this kind of wm.
Problem is that I don't know if they use italian motor or others such as chinese motor.
We'll have time in the future to mess up with modern iWash.

I saw Miele are goods, what scares me is the electronic module labeled as expensive and with the same reliability as other brands.
And I saw some comments over the web calling this brand "wm for bad girl" but no explanation on that sentence.

Quality is important but our wasn't Miele and worked good for 17.5 years, requiring oridinary maintance and 2 extraordinary maintance: 1 power switch and the couple of bearings.

(Meat: if I contact the company they will laugh at me: "what do you want for your 17.5 years wm?"
Plus they can only sell a new motor, and the price is very high cause it's a 8 wires motor. There is another version of that motor, with 6 wires. This will cost 1/2 but can't fit the drum and it required a dedicated board, different from mine).

    Please keep suggesting.
I accept even: do not buy that with mechanical timer.

We had an AEG for about 17 years and left it when we had to move, it was a great machine and really did get well used. We have a Hotpoint at the moment as we cannot afford an AEG now, so far (touch wood !) it is doing a good job and gets used almost every day.

Sorry but Hotpoint has altered the reliability of the Italian (Indesit and Ariston). In Italy no one know who Hotpoint is and where it came from.
Simply one day back in 2000 we woke up and found the name Hotpoint written near Ariston, then there was a reliability change. Will not tell you if in positive or negative. Clearly a marketing maneuver.
Marketing must stay away from appliances and automotive department. Cutting cost means low reliability. Time to get back in '80 and early '90 when Engineers got absolute power building a project.

Most of the modern AEG has inverter motor. A power surge will fix the motor board forever. Can't count on: I'll remove the plug during any storm, cause I'm not always home.

My brother has to buy one too for his home, and he don't like the idea of the mechanical timer, cause he's blinded by honeycomb drum (AEG, Electrolux and Miele got it).
I don't care about drum design, our old got a simply drum with round holes and washed perfectly.

Thanks for your entry and good luck with your Ht. Hope it lasts more than my old.

    Guys please keep suggesting.

How about sending your washing to Meat's Ma for the Dk service !!!!!
You might of notice, Meat dominate the forum. I think his Ma has the washing concession?
Meat specialise in the "tyre press" finishing service! With the bicycle crease edge detail finish!
Here we keep it all in the Dk family

Thanks mate, everyone got it's on row:
@gc1966 I can wash myself into that. Seems good to wash engine too, but I'm not an engine cleaner maniac. Never cleaned in 21 yrs. That's why it's lasting: keep it away from water. :P
@ bandit boy: neighbours got a LG for 8 yrs (nice!) then stop spinning and no way to fix it in a cheaper way. They moved into Panasonic.
@gmb45: Miele is high quality but the minimum warranty for law is 2 yrs. If you pay you'll have 3yrs or 5yrs.
@glyntamlyn: Same family as mine. I'm Sorry your motor lasted only 10yrs.
@lagerland: tells to your wife that Zanussi is inside the Electrolux family. During this 17.5 yrs I bought the spares of my Zoppas (Zanussi) looking in the AEG and Electrolux catalog.
It's nice in the winter to dream an hotpoint...that will warm you better than a cup of tea.
@ifred: Ehr, thanks for the list but all the Electrolux family for WM is in this tiny: AEG/Electrolux/Rex/Zanker/Zanussi (Zoppas and so on).
@maca: It's my mother's wm. She will spank you for suggesting wash by hand.
@ifred (x2): nice idea. Lemme write something down here.

@Meat: sent to you the wm. It's good that you've replaced the front chassis with a Miele ceramic front, now it couldn't rust anymore, but duct tape is not a solution to match front and rear chassis.
You told me you were going to fit an Lg motor but then you realized it couldn't fit inside your modified cabinet, so now I have a Whirlpool induction motor fitted in a Bosch plastic drum, driven from a Bauknecht board. Unfortunately you didn't understand very well how induction motor works so the capacitor is missing. Now I have to spin it by hand to let it start at the belt side.
You realized you need 2 bearings but 1 was from a Siemens and 1 from Constructa and you forgot to fit the seal so water will damage the bearings at the first wash.
Why does the Hoover lcd shows candies at the start up? A wm family self-propaganda?
Why does Tracy Barlow appears in the fast spin menu?
Why does "hail hitler" appears as a goodbye message? Did you insert the Wagen .bin in the front panel board using chinese usbkkl cable?
Ok wm need a resistor. But a 1kohm 1/4W carbon wound res will warm 0.01mg of water. Not enough for 5kg of garment.
There is no inlet and outlet pump for clean water and dirty water but you fitted a Garrett turbo kompressor. Do I need to lube the bearings everyday so it will not blown as in Bimmers and Wagens?
Why not a much more reliable KKK? Wonder why Porsche use only KKK?
And if Wagens were/are/will a part of Porsche brand why they fall in the Garrett mess?
Oh sorry, Reno are the only suicide diesel engine. And Bimmer and Nissa use them? Are they crasi?
So Bimmer cars uses Bimmer diesel with Garrett = destroy
So Bimmer cars uses Reno self suicide diesel = destroy

Anyone out of here has a Bimmer car with diesel engine? Good luck m8.
